Family Service of the Chautauqua Region
Family Service of the Chautauqua Region (FSCR) is a nonprofit counseling agency that has proudly served the community since 1903. Our mission is to strengthen the mental health and well-being of individuals, families, and the community at large. We offer compassionate, professional counseling and support services to help people navigate life’s challenges and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. Our experienced clinicians provide evidence-based treatment tailored to each person’s unique needs. Services are available in our welcoming office, through secure telehealth sessions, and—in appropriate cases—via in-home counseling. Our House Calls program ensures accessibility and comfort for all. In alignment with our mission, FSCR is committed to removing barriers to mental health care through the following initiatives:
• Community-Based Counseling (CBC): In addition to our House Calls program, FSCR brings mental health care directly into the community. We maintain an active presence at several local organizations—including the Boys & Girls Club, the Mental Health Association, the Anew Center, and UCAN—with plans for continued expansion. This approach helps reduce barriers to care by meeting individuals where they are.
• Hispanic Outreach Program: Staffed by qualified bilingual professionals, this program supports Spanish-speaking community members with mental health needs. We provide interpretation services and assistance navigating care. Funded by the New York State Office of Mental Health, the program works to close the service gap for Hispanic/Latino populations.
• Employee Assistance Program (EAP): For more than 25 years, FSCR has partnered with regional employers to support workforce mental health. We currently serve over 4,000 employees across approximately 40 organizations.
• Social Care Network (SCN): In early 2025, FSCR received approval as a network partner in the newly launched WNY Social Care Network, part of the New York Health Equity Reform 1115 Waiver Amendment. As an SCN partner, we offer screening and navigation services for Medicaid recipients, helping connect them with essential resources such as housing, food, transportation, and physical and mental healthcare.
